Well Iowans, if nothing else you're entertaining!

I swear the Republican voters out there are bending over backwards to try and make sure the candidate they choose will be incredibly easy for Obama to beat in the general election! RICK SANTORUM? Really people, RICK SANTORUM? The guy who

thinks homosexuality, bestiality, and pedophilia, are the same thing; thinks we should bomb Iran immediately, thinks we should create "AIDS housing units", says the reasons priests raped children in Boston is because of the "leftist and liberals from MIT and Harvard"; calls global warming junk science, and lastly thinks that "contraception is a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be." Ladies and gentlemen, your 2012 Iowa runner up, Rick Santorum!

I'm not thrilled to be voting for Obama again, but given the ridiculous choices being trotted out of the stable from the right, I don't really see much of a choice at the moment...

you'd be surprise how many people would agree with the base concepts of what you just said... not necessarily the salacious way you just described it...

At the end of the day it's going to be Mitt. I know Ron Paul is insane but after the last three years I'm even ready to vote for the crazy guy.

I'd vote for Michelle Bachmann if that was the only alternative to 0bama. At least theres a chance she would try something to get us going again besides exploding the debt. I am really beginning to wonder if the tin hat crowd who thinks 0bama wants to destroy our economy so he can replace it with something more to his liking might not be on to something.....

I'd vote for the Kool-aid man before voting for Obama. Hell, I'd vote for anyone that will bring "Change".

Don't even joke about mods abusing their rights or I'll replace your next post with a President Obama love note.

The President's latest unconstitutional move should make him easier to defeat....If the People still care about "We the People" rather than "we the sheeple".
It is not a recess until BOTH Houses say it is a recess Mr Obama.

That's a twist. Yeah the President should have veto'd that puppy but didn't McCain sponser the dang bill?

lol, you're talking 2 different things. from my understanding congress took the day off and on that day off, Obama "recess" appointed 3 people to that board that blocked Boeing from building a plant in a non-union state?
VS that defense bill that just suspended the right to a trial for American Citizens...
Either way, that is crap, and well, I'm not sure what those Republicans were thinking supporting that in a defense bill.

If my Senator, Kyl, is correct, it only applies to "Al Qaeda" suspects. Now a corrupt ATF/FBI/DOJ officer can simply slap that tag on anyone, but they would have to show Al Qaeda affiliation; again, if Senator Kyl is telling the truth. But it is still bad law and should never have been considered, much less passed.

Now in times of actual war, Habeas corpus has been suspended, and I don't really have a HUGE issue with that. Considering once was well, during the civil war the other time was during WWII interning all the Japs. However, we didn't actually declare war...

something i notice a lot in news from the us or political discussions is the jump to these bigger motives that the left and right throw at each other. i find it unique in a way to american politics when i hear that obama, for example, had done this or that and that somehow = a grander marxist, leftist agenda to ruin freedom or whatever. here in canada we currently have a conservative gov that are implementing aged american style crime bills that were modeled on what texas used to do with mega prisons, harsh sentences and that lot. officials in texas have written to our gov telling them that approach failed and despite stats showing canadian crime rates, especially serious crime, are at 20-30 year lows the gov is going ahead with their bills all the same. anyway, what i want to get at is that those opposed to these crime bills dont necessarily jump to the conclusion that the prime minister is trying to turn canada into a police state or that there is a huge right wing plot against the citizens. hes simply a stubborn a-hole with some bad ideas on how to govern. i wonder whats diff about american politics that there seems to be this sensationalising of the issues by both sides?

On a side note, "officials in texas" would by no means be a good thing to go on. Seeing that, "officials in texas" cover a whole spectrum of belief structure. And particularly with democrats, and to an extent with republicans, people will give more credence to their theology than actual statistics in determining if something was successful or not. (see harry reid saying that Rich people don't hire anyone)

Because some Americans fall prey to extreme left, or right, media indoctrination, which makes them very vocal about what the majority Americans (and American voters) consider extreme views. Trust me, most Americans are not on that crazy boat.
