Hey gentlemen this thread is going to get closed if you can't be more polite. You have stated that you think that it is wrong for him to keep his two angels in a tank that small. He has said that they are extremely small. You have a difference of opinion. Let it go and move on.

Now.........back to OP. They are really beautiful. Hopefully they start eating really well soon. I would definitely be thinking about a large upgrade soon. Do you have another tank ready yet? Maybe a 75 in the next couple months ready? I believe a queen needs a tank of at least 180 or bigger to house it for life. What are your thoughts?
they are eating brine, algae cubes and algae sheets. until they grow a too large for the tank i will give them away to a local reefer or the pet store. i agree that they need a larger tank but they are so small right now should be good , they have yet to bite each other or mess with each other and if they start showing aggression toward each other i let one go to someone or a petstore.

Well I have the best solution to chill everyone out. Just send me those angels and I'll make sure they are kept in a good 350 gallon reef tank. Also I don't think those c.banded will work in your tank either so you can send them also! HAHAHA!
Seriously though two angels in a 29 will kill each other sooner than later...so have you thought of selling them to a l.f.s...you can get get some $ and the angel police will be off your back. Heck if I lived in south Florida I'd save the electric bill and just dive when I need a s.w.f fix?
if you lived in south florida i would be happy to give them to you when they get too big or start to be aggressive with each other.
and my shrimp are fine :) one already shed and the female has a stomach full of eggs.

First-To those who's first reaction is "That's illegal": You the American citizen are the owner and care-taker of public land, not the government! Read the constitution. Should there be laws to protect the resources for all citizens? Yes, as long as that is as far as it goes. ...Wait until someone has an 8" angel in a 10g tank before screaming "irresponsible".

I love to collect myself too, I have 125 full of gorgonians I collected, and can't wait to get some free time to go back down and get some more stuff. However, there's still the point that taking a 'qurarter-sized' French angel is illegal and heavily frowned upon. There are reasons why the minimum size is 1 3/4", and not unregulated. In order for us to continue collecting, you have to adhere to these rules. That's what I hope scott, or anyone that reads this thread does, is review the rules before they just go take whatever they want.
Scott, that said, I really hope the angels will do well, now that they are in your care. At the sizes they are, I doubt you'll see much aggression, but that make change in the future.

but now i know, ty.

In Before The Lock.
I too believe the tenor of this thread will get it locked up at some point if things don't change for the better.

Cool Angels.
They are pretty small, so i dont see why they currently NEED a BIG tank. In my opinion they will need a bigger tank in a few months.
Its amazing how many people on here think theyre actually marine biologist.
If you dont have nothing nice to say get off the thread or just dont open it?
That simple.
Scottallert,
my 250 is currently 'cycling' at the moment... when the time comes for them to move out of that 29 and you cant find a better home... ill buy them off you?

Yea, pretty much all of the angels have to be a certain size. Gatorzone's post has the link with all the info.

Interesting about the FWC officer. Did he know or mention what the fish were (angels)? Yea, the gorgonians are pretty hard to get. You have to be very careful that the base will come off. I usually take a knife or flathead screwdriver and give the rock a couple chips before I pull the gorg off. The other thing is that finding collectable ones are tough. Most of the one's that you'll find are too large. If you look over the FWC link, you're only allowed a gallon bag per specimen. Granted you can stuff a pretty large gorg into a gallon bag, but off Pompano where I've been, most of them are over 2', so they're too large too collect (also, they're there so strongly attached, there's no way you could physically pull the gorg off the rocks. Lastly, be sure you aren't collecting any sea fans. Those are on the short list of prohibited species.
