What algae is this? How do I remove it?

I have a small 16g bowfront, been set up for about a year and a half. There was always small patch of green on one of the rocks, but for the longest time it really did not spread. In the last couple months it has really started to take off! What is this? What is the best way to remove it? Why did it start to spread suddenly? Water changes done every 2 weeks, using water run through a DI filter. The PC lights are on order, could the older lights cause this?
Thanks!

Green Turf Algae.
Any Rabbitfish will eat it. I think Sea Hares eat it but I'm not sure. Amphipods like it but they don't like to be exposed on top of the rock like that.

Looks like you are right about it being Turf Algae from other photos I googled. The 16g is going to be too small for a Rabbitfish though, any other thoughs? I could always remove and scrub if that is an option? I will test the water today, but regular checks show no elevated levels.
Thanks!

Look up "Hair Rock".
This can happen if high quality live rock is exposed to high ammonia levels for an extended period of time. If this has happened then the water parameters don't matter because plenty of nutrients leach from the rock.
