What breed of dog would you choose??

Teresa I love your dobe!! She is beautiful, I also like your Shepherd. My boyfriend had a Jack Russell, really cool dog with tons of energy. Oh and yes dobes are big goofs and are super clumsy

Ha ha! You sound like my family! It matters not as there is a revolving door on my house. My extended family always calls on me, the doggie hotel, when they need a sitter. I suppose I already have dogs. My low level OCD is nearly gone. And after a few home improvement projects (ridding the house of carpet in prep) I'm sure I'll soon have a new addition. My husband's co-worker's Retriever just had pups! Retriever and Lab mix! We call them "Cottonelle doggies"! So Cute!!! Although the doggies I've seen here are To Die For!!!

I would love a Rhodesian Ridgeback, but I think those are out of my league, personally I love hounds, i love the bark. I wouldn't mind another beagle. But I'm in an apartment and I don't believe in apartment dogs.

The best indoor dog has got to be the papillon. We have one and we love here. Very smart.

My bro and sis in law have a part Rhodesian. He is pure brute force but you wouldn't know it to look at him. Wiry sucker. And his tail. It actually hurts if he hits you with it. Although he is filling out more as he is growing up. Sweetest guy ever. Very deep bark. What we love is you can see the wiggle line down his back. I took him for a walk one time and he pulled me and I dove head first into the concrete. I couldn't even walk the next day. He had the nerve to turn and look at me like, "Dude, why are laying down during my walk?" I love him though. I couldn't even imagine him in an apartment. Total disaster.

I love dogs!!! I personally have two terriers. One is a shorty Jack Russel, named Sebastian, that I bought from a breeder in VA. He was breed for calm temperament. The other is a terrier mix and much larger. Her name is Julie. I got her from a local kennel. I hate going into kennels because I want to rescue every single animal in there. We wanted another dog and she just stole our hearts. Her story was sad. She had been from kennel to kennel most of her life. She was two when we adopted her. Her most recent kennel, before the one that we got her from, was in Georgia. Here are some pics. Sebastian is the little guy, Julie is the black and white.

If I could choose without asking anybody else, I'd go with a Boxer. Had one growing up and she was the smartest/funniest and most obedient dog ever. She was great with kids and a very alert watch dog. Unfortunately her fathers side brought in hip problems and she finally paralyzed from waist down after a surgery

Anyways, I'd get another Boxer is given the opportunity.
Right now we have a tiny rescue dog Gizmo, who is a mix of a chichuahua and a poodle. 6 lbs of cuteness. We had another rescue dog too, Ms Peanut, who was a mix of a daxhound and yorkie and she passed away 2 yrs ago.

I would go with a big dog . A bull mastiff or similar breed . I don't really consider a Doberman to be a large dog . Its a big dog but there are bigger dogs . Its on the high side of medium .

why wouldnt you consider a doberman a lrg breed dog.
let me tell ya mine is bigger them my shepard. she weighs in at about 70 lbs. at ten mo old and still has a yr to fill out. her dad was over a hundred
bull mastifs and danes are extra lrg dogs.

.
It's a breed that was around a long time ago that is gaining popularity again. It is a mix of Olde english Bulldog and Bull terrier in Britian where they have gained recognition as a Breed. I don't believe they are recognized by the AKC.
Here's a link.
