Unfortunately, Aiptasia get a free ride into your tank via LR and/or LS. While on a 2 week vacation I lost 80% of my pony family to these evil pests. The family now consists of Titan, the father, and 4 babies. I am killing the LS and LR in another tank. When the process is done, it will be sterile and void of Aiptasia or any other threats to horses.
So, for now I am leaving the tank bare, with only the minimal of pony comforts.
There are VERY few, if any tank mates that can be kept with ponies. So besides decorative dead coral or dead rock hitching posts and dead substrate of your choice, that's about it. Also for health safety and water quality purposes, that's about all a 10 gallon can support when it comes to seahorses.
