my mom bought some fish and more today -.- and she keeps feeding them brine shrimp. she is very stubborn and i know she won't buy anything but the brine shrimp. I will be doing research on my own but im just looking for things people got their fish to eat easily.

1. Green spotted puffer- will eat all basic stuff like snails and what not but it will NOT crack the shells. it's teeth are not over grown and it's pretty small yet so it is hard to find tiny snails and foods. any idea what I can feed it for now. usually feed it raw shell on shrimp, takes snails but i crack em for it and feed wiht shell fragments on, will eat squid, clams, mussles on the half shell only because it can't open the shells up. what about octopuss and scallops?

2. Bursa Triggerfish- this one my mom just bought today

3. bangaii cardinals

4. Ocellaris clowns

5. Golden Sleeper head goby

6. Blue Devil Damsel

7. Blue tang

getting paid this weekend and I want to buy food they actually eat besides brine shrimp. preferably ones that majority of them can eat rather then individuals but if they all can't eat the same foods then i will feed individually.

All of those fish will eat frozen Mysis Shrimp.

IMO making you own food is easy and the best choice as well as being cheaper.

I also think you are overstocked and added too many fish too fast. Keep a close eye on everything but in my opinion some of your fish will start to get stressed relatively soon, especially the Blue Tang. The Tang is most at risk because the Trigger will get aggressive due to the undersized tank and try to shoo off the Tang.

yea my mom keeps buying fish -.- and isn't experienced. It was great and understocked at first and now i know it is over stocked. I also dont have the money to upgrade anytime soon. i finished doing my research seems like a few of them will accept the same foods now just need to figure out how the hell I am going to feed the ones that need special foods like the trigger and puffer. and the tang alone.

the fish are all relatively small atm except the goby which is fully grown. so i might be able to cough up a bigger set up by then probably a 150gal at the least.

the trigger will need the same thing as the puffer and dont worry about the trigger getting big for A LONG TIME. the trigger you have is one of the slowest growing triggers along with the picasso and the humu humu. they will grow about an inch every two years. so it is very anoying how slow they grow and they grow even slower once they rach about 4 1/2''. thats why thes triggers are great for smaller tanks. i would feed your puffer and trigger freeze dried shrimp to wear down the teeth. and also feed mysis and squid. and while you are taking care of these aggressive fish keep in mind that a fat fish= happy fish. please dont under feed the trigger it will lead to a shorter life in the long run because its not getting enough food and it will develope wrong. if it looks like its belly is pinched it needs more food. now dont just keep feeding the trigger because it can eat more thoes guys are like bottomless pits when it comes to food. i would also get veggie sheets for the tang. so mysis, squid, freeze dried shrimp, algea sheets, and the stuff you already have is what you should feed. also soak the freeze dried stuff in water until it wont float if your puffer or trigger eat from the surface they may end up swallowing air and not be able to swim right for a week.

I bought some formula one pellet food people recommended it on some other forum for salt water fish will try it out. Also bought some dried kelp from the grocery store their is nothing in it but kelp as I know sometimes they add things like salt. The tang doesn't seem to care for it. However it will eat romane lettuce ironically. Im starting to feed 3 times a day instead of 2. because we used to only feed 1 cube which will satisfy majority of them. Can't get some freeze dried shrimp/squid until this weekend when I get paid but that is next on my list for sure
