What do you keep your tempeture at?

79, but sometimes gets up to 80 or 81 with the MH. Depends on how hot it is outside (with A/C going and all).

mine gets too hot like 83 top right now its like at 73 but the temp isnt high enough whats is the higest it can get and the lowest? what do i need to have before i put sand in?

It depends a LOT on what animals you want to keep.
A few years ago there was a Nano tank grow out contest. I picked warm water species and maintained the 10 gallon tank at 86F. It really thrived and I won the contest.
Someone above just stated they keep their tank at 74F so that sounds like a reasonable minimum. Again, it does depends on what you are keeping though.

I have mine at 74-75ish due to the fact that I have a brand new Bandit angel. He is a deep water species of angel and is used to that temperature. Once he gets acclimated I may move the temp up to 76-77.
My reef tank runs at around 79-81
