What do you use for medai in your sump?

Just got a new sump and want to know what media every on is using.

From time to time i use carbon, or a phosphate sponge, but thats really it...my sump is basically bare....I do however have 3 drip trays which all have different filter pads embedded in them to take out the unwanted from the tank...

I use denitrate, pura pad and chemi-pure.

I have no media in my sump.

I run fresh carbon and phosguard. I also run LS/LR/CHAETO/CALURPA/and a skimmer

Are you talking about a refugium or sump? A sump should just have equipment such as heater, skimmer, grounding probe. A refugium is where you put LS,chaeto..etc. Some people do section a portion of their sump as a refugium, but it should be a separate tank with low flow to be efficient.

I am talking about a sump. So live rock and some carbon would work well to start?
