What eats coraline

I notice some white patches on my LR this afternoon and on the back of my tank were the coraline grows.Then a notice some kind of critter thats doing it. I'll try to describe the little ###.The size is of the end of a pencil eraser.It looks like a doughboy star but instead of 5 arms it has 6

A lot of Urchins will eat coraline

you're describing an asterina starfish. the coralline will grow back, but you can also get rid of the star

Ive have a star that sounds about same and I nothing against losing a bit of coralline. But Im wondering if its will hurt any corals (mainly softies)
