In a 30gal will my coral banded kill my pepermint? What about if i got an arrow crab?:thinking:

I don't see why it would. I have one banded with 4 peppermints... No problems here...

Once the Coral Banded matures it will eventually eat the Peppermint Cleaners while they molt.

Interesting... I have not witnessed this myself. My Banded has been in my tank for close to a year but not munching on the peppermints yet... I'll keep that in mind when they start to disappear...
Besides I thought the problem was more when there were shrimp of each species having the same gender?

It takes a few years for Coral Banded Shrimp to mature.
Cleaner Shrimp species have no gender.

Peppermints aren't true cleaners, though....right? Or are they?

They sure are. Lysmata sp. are all "Cleaner Shrimp".

I'm not well versed in the Gold variety other than admiring their beauty.
I would guess that their behavior would be similar.

gold is a smooth colar 4 a cbs,unfortunatly he likes the hidden pt of the tank instead of the front. recently he's been out more, isaw him cleaning my coral beauty. it was a sight to see.
