Had to move this thread over to the seahorse section before I got beat up, LOL
I need to start a new one, these guys got moved to my 30T and now have two blue striped pipefish and a Bristletail Filefish as tank mates.
The pipefish are really small, only about an inch - inch and a half long right now. I probably will put one into my reef once they grow some more. They're too small for me to really see what sex they are, but I know if I have two of the same, they can't stay together. They're eating pods like mad though :)
I still can't figure out how to post videos here.

I have windows 7 and New Vista....Located in the second to the last box on top of the reply area... The first little square icon. click on it, and browse. Go to your pictures on your computer and locate the picture you want and double click on it...then hit submit and your picture is posted.

Looking forward to the vid when you figure it out. I may have to build a pipefish tank someday...

They look good. I was hoping I didnt see it right on your other post that you added pipe fish with them. Watch them close, it is not advised to mix captive bred horses with wild caught pipe fish. The pathogen that the pipes may carry can transfer to your captive bred horses and cause real problem. Did you worm the pipes??? these too can transfer. Talk to sax and rene. do you have the tank chilled-what temps are you keeping it. You may need to keep it cooler and frequant water changes to prevent any problems.
Good Luck with them, cant wait for some new pics.

They look great!
Do you know if the kudas were captive bred or pen raised? It might be worth considering deworming the whole crew since they're already in with the pipes. I can't wait to see the vid!

That's good, better chance of survival. There are a few peps on another site that would be interested in captive bred pipes. There aren't too many that can do it.
Cant wait to see pictures of them.

Yes, my husband bought me two blue stripes this weekend as part of my anniversary gift.
They're all captive bred, so I'm not too worried. The pipes are just too small for me to sex right now. On the off chance that they are the same sex, one will go in the 180, or the refugium to the 180.
The tank temperature stays at 72-74, I keep a fan on it and the AC is running as well.
The seahorses eat frozen Mysis, arctipods and enriched brine. The pipes eat small shavings of salmon, arctipods and the Copepods in the caulerpa.

That's fantastic. I think blue stripes are beautiful, and the fact that they are somewhat easy to breed is very promising for our hobby. Did you read the CORAL articles about sexing blue stripes?

Did see the article. I actually save all the magazines and keep them in their shipping plastic. The pipes are just too small for me to really tell for sure. I'm hoping that in the next 6 weeks I'll be able to know for sure. I think they're male female, but it may be two females. Fingers crossed that I have a pair.

LOL Okay, I don't actually save them in plastic, but at least I know I'm not the only one who saves our reef and coral mags forever. :)

Time for an update:
I think I going to be taking the Filefish out. She doesn't really seem like she's happier in the colder temperature, since she'd been in a reef for so long, so she needs to go back.
One of the baby Kuda's died. I'm not completely sure what happened, but it was the one that I was iffy about for a week or two. Oh well...
I now have two Yellow Kuda's from ORA, along with the two black ones. I know that it's not a guarantee that they'll stay Yellow, but they are ORA's and already eat frozen. I have a male/female pair:

My husband is building an custom 3watt LED fixture for this tank at the moment.
I ordered some new macro's for this one as well, they should be here Wednesday. I ordered a lot of different red algaes, should be nice against the green that is currently in there. Also added an MP10 power head, sooooo much nicer than having the little Koralia Nano powerhead.
So since the filefish is coming out, I added a Purple Firefish as it's replacement:

The tank just needed an open water swimmer. She's been QT'd, and I didn't really know where to put her, so in this tank is where she ended up, at least until I get my Catalina Goby (which is on order at the moment).
