I have had occasional minor bouts of eczema and some chemial reactions under my rings in my lifetime but ever since I started this hobby I ALWAYS have a few areas of my hands that are rough, itchy, cut, roughened, and other mysterious "bumps".
I know exactly what you mean- I've already scheduled my 4th doctor's appointment for my eczema in the last 4 months. It seems like lots of people have some reaction to the saltwater/corals they keep, but I have eczema also and get hives when I do lots of tank maintenance. The saltwater is extremely drying, which often makes eczema worse (why people tend to have more outbreaks in winter), so I always finish my tank work, wash my hands and then pile on the moisturizer, and usually go with a 2nd application about 30 min after the first. Seems like a lot, but every little bit helps. Cetaphil works pretty well for me.
Good luck with it! Oh the ways we sacrifice for our fish

He gave me a steroid pack and told me to wear gloves from now on!
We'll see if the steroids work. Oh and i too have to pile on the moisturiser, and I wash my hands with anti bacterial soap everytime I stick them in the tank (which doesnt help with the dryness).

I still have some knots/lumps on my right pinky finger from a coral sting 2 or 3 weeks ago. I think it was my torch, but I was kinda close to some palys, too. Anyway, they were isolated to one area. If you have general sores where you contacted the water, I would lean toward allergic reaction to the water (and it's makeup) rather than stings.
Either way, take some Benadryl if possible.
I almost puked after misreading general as genital.

Fish water is loaded with bacteria. Rock is hard with lots of sharp edges. So if you get a cut it can be serious.
However...little bumps or blisters that you describe are often called the onset of developing calluses. You have tender young hands, and handling rock is making your fingers tender and so your fingers are developing calluses.
It is the body’s natural way of protecting itself against constant hardness rubbing against it.
Hope this eases your mind a bit.
