well this stuff started growing this week
any one have a clue what it is?

Looks like Valonia.

I have 4 groups of it and it's not Valonia. It's not a problem alge, it grows to slow, I've had it for years with no problems. And as yet know one has been able to ID it for me yet. Maybe some will know this time around. It is obviously a type of algae, but it feels like sponge and branches and even breeds by growing little stems on it thet disapper after repoduction. Maybe this will bump it for you.
