I use IO. Been around for years, gonna be around for years.
PLUS you can get it anywhere.
I know of people wiping their whole tanks out switching salts, you can get IO anywhere.
Plus most people use it, so its great if you are actively frag trading, that way the animals don't have to get stressed.

Oceanic is pretty good, especially for reef tanks. For FO tanks I always liked Red Sea. Never did like IO.

Ok- so Oceanic for reefs(what my new tank will be).
How does everyone rate the corallife? I have a 75g reef and I dont see any problems yet but is there something I should look for?

oceanic for me too -- the calcium level is great, however the buffering capacity is not very good at all.
corallife is good for buffering pH, but the elements are not as good as oceanic I believe.

If you are using kent, test your levels, including nitrate and phosphate. If you're satisfied, then why fix it if it ain't broke? One other thing I look at, with all the levels, is dissolvability.

I've been using Oceanic with great results for the corals - but the pH and alk are a little low, so I've been buffering with washing soda - which is working out well -- and it's cheaper than adding calcium.
