I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the correct forum, but this bubble looking thing showed up today sometime on one of my rocks. I have some mushrooms on the other side of my tank, but these look bubble-like and not like a mushroom. I though maybe eggs, but these look like they are attached to the LR. Any thoughts would be great.

Great minds think alike.
Remove it with tweezers VERY carefully. If you burst it, it will release spores and you may end up with more of it...
and tweezers won't break it????

Have you ever had it? It is comparable to icebreakers liquid ice. If you don't squeeze too hard but get a good grip, it comes right out, no problem. It isn't thin and fragile like a real bubble.

so will this stuff spread and take over if I don't extract them?
Ime, it doesn't spread as fast as other alga, but it can be a nuisance. You should remove it, but if you bust one it isn't the end of the world.

Yeah I don't have any tangs, I may in the future but havent decided yet what my next fish will be. I'm gonna try to remove it tomorrow, without disturbing it.

My emerald crab loves eating this stuff. The problem is, he bursts it which makes more pop up. Good Luck.

wow i didnt know there was a red version. i had the green version show up right in the middle of one of my corals. dont know the name but its like a starburst but they look like daisies. anyway it almost killed it i only have 3 sprouts left out of 100 or so. i removed most of it and got a new yellow eye tang that did a work on the rest. i had a blue hippo but it wouldnt eat em for some reason.
