What is this ? scary crab look a like

i have a black crab looking like think with a claw that looks like a lobsters .....it also has some hairy legs.....he hides in the rock and he is quick, ...he came on an old rock i bought months ago ......he looks dangerous ...if anyone knows please help

Does the animal itself look like a Lobster? It could just be a Pistol Shrimp but you would have heard it by now.

it looks like a crab --the type that dont have a big shell on it's back .....like a sally lite foot or something....but i noticed it only has 1 big claw

This is not good news...:nope:
I just saw a "pair" of black pincer claws sticking out of a rock crevasse, "grabbing" at a scarlet crab as it crawled by....
Did not see a "body" or if it was hairy etc..no shell...
"Claws" looked similar to Cindy's pic but Jet Black...
Must investigate further....:thinking: :scared: :mad:

definatly get rid of it, mine ate 2 royal grammas, 1 false perc (he was stressed and slow moving because he took a trip to my overflow box), took a couple nice hunks off my serpent star, possibly 3 nudi branches, basically anything it could get his claws on. there were also 3 other hitchiking crabs like that in my tank and we have finally got all of them out.

I just pulled one of those out this last weekend. First sign of it was a molt that I found last week and then I spotted it over the weekend and removed enough rock to get it out of the tank. Definitely a monster.
