What is the purple colored sponge looking thing in the middle of the picture. I have it growing in my tank. Every time I remove it from the rock it grows right back in the same place again. Someone please help me in resolving this issue. Thanks and the faster I fix it the faster I will post pics of the whole tank. 12 Gallon Nano Cube Zoas, Mushrooms and Coral for your eyes.
To be continued...............

It's difficult to tell for sure but it appears to have air bubbles on it. If so I would guess that it's Cyanobacter.

Hi,
It looks like cyano to me as well. If it is only on that one spot maybe it is a dead area that hasn't enough water flow.
To test water flow. I attach a ribbon to the end of a long plastic stick and place it around areas in my tank. The ribbon tells me which way the water flows and how hard it blows over the rocks.
I adjust my powerheads and retest with my ribbon stick. It takes the guess work out water flow for me, so maybe you can try it. I toss the ribbon when I'm done and save my stick for other uses.
Hope tis helps.

How does it act when you siphon it off? Does it come off in pretty much ione piece?
It does come off in one piece and when it does it feels and looks like a piece of sponge like material. It is in other places of the tank. So if there are other pics you would like me to take or if you want me to send you a piece in the mail I will. Just let me know.
