what is this

I was walking by my tank last nght about 3 hr after the lights were off and I saw some kind of worm, there was about 4-5in of it sticking out of the rock, I think it was black, and it was the size of a toothpick. It was gone before I could get my camara. Thanks in adavace for the help

5" and the size of a toothpick sounds more like a tentacle to me. Hmmm.. Can you try baiting it with some food so you can get another look.
