a few months ago, i was watching the travel channel and they had a show on called extreme homes...they featured a house in hawaii built on a golf course with an ocean view...in the garden of the house, they had an 8 foot (i believe...) deep SALTWATER POND, fed by the ocean....the pond had all kinds of corals and fish...the real kicker was that in the houses basement, they built a dining room, and one of the walls was the fish pond/tank...wow. i'll take one, please...

I don't know for sure, a lot of people down here have them. When we get one:) it will be salt simply because the chlorine is devastating to hair and skin (I'm a hairdresser, I HATE that) ;)

my ultimate tank if money wasn't an option would wrap around our entire house so it would be 60 feet long and 10 feet wide on the long sides of the house then make the corner and be 28 feet wide by 10 feet on the 2 ends of the house with canopies built around the doors so whenyou walked into the house you would be passing through the tank to get inside then i wouild have as many different kinds of fish as i could get maybe a great white or a killer whale LOL

Realistically (yeah right), I'd like a 120"x48"30" tank that would house a pair of epaulettes, a pair of bamboos, a polleni grouper, and a pair of bluespot stingrays.
I'd also like a 125g with a pair of either Hawai'in or Japanese Dragon morays (doesn't matter which one.)
And a 40g breeder with a pair of black percs, rose bta, and maybe a few softies.
Isn't it fun to dream?

I couldn't help but point this one out. As for my dream tank, it involves a dream house. I have it planned out for a class project, and it includes numerous in-wall tanks, storage areas, and work rooms. I hope I strike it rich one day.

My dream tank, should be as big as it can have safely 1 black tip shark, loads of pairs of gobies, blennies, clowns, dragonettes, seahorses, and shools of tangs, anthias, chromises, glass fishes, cardinals... octos and cuttlefish, anemones, all kind of corals and inverts, but ofcourse, any fish wont eat the other one, i mean that big

mine would not be 1 tank, it would be like 3 or 4. i dont like huge tanks like the size of ur house cuz u cant c all of it. i would have like a really tall 2000g tank in the wall that has awsum rare agresive fish in it. then there would be tubes from each side of the tank goin thru the inside of the walls to 2 reefs on either side.
that would be awsum, and it would have state of the art technology and all, and of course like 100s of Mh and T5:D ok maybe not. but realistically, on ----, i saw a 900 gallon tank. it sed the shape was called 'double bullnose' it looked like eteches pic but not as high, longer tho. two people comfortably sat in it and fed their stingrays. i would get a school of flying grunards, there cool fish, specially in schools

Someone asked a few posts back about swimming pools, and SW
I have a system called Autopilot,on my pool ,it uses salt to produce a form of cholrine thats not harsh on skin or smells harsh:) very cool, im tempted someday to alter it, to add live rock,
and have a 40,000 gallon reef:D

when I get a house, I'd like to have a tank in the wall kinda like what BlueMarlin was describing as his 180g. That would be very sweet. any pix, BlueMarlin?

My dream tank would be a "HUGE" tank in the middle of a house. (two or three stories) As soon as you walk in it would be in the middle of the foyer, with the most spectacular s/w fish you have seen, so that my honey can go snokelling in it all the time. To boot put the house on a cliff that overlooks the water in Hawaii, what a dream...... One of these days.......

Nice thread to bring up from the basement.
I'll go for the wrap around the room tank. Big room, at that.
