I think I may try it once I run out of agricultural Hydrated Lime.

Bang Guy,
I'm not sure what you mean by "Calcium oxide" ..The Mississippi Lime I get comes from my work. Its food grade Calcium Hydroxide. It looks and acks the same as the ESV calcium hydroxide I've used in the past. The good news is that Coca Cola pays 19 cents a pound for this stuff.

can i start dripping the ball's p lime now with my calcium being at 300 to 350 or do i have to get the calcium up first then start dripping?

Kip, how does a kalkreactor work? I though kalk had to settle before adding it to a tank? and also, is your DIY project difficult? I wouldn't mind looking into a kalkreactor!

Kip - Just my opinion about the PM design. It's one of the better ones but one simple change would make it better IMO.
A second chamber to be used as a settling chamber. It would not have to be clear, so cheap PVC would work fine. It would just have to be air tight and have a way of emptying it once a month or so.
