Definitely take the trip!!!! Life speeds up as you get older, you have more responsibilities, it's harder to get away for even a simple vacation much less this kind of trip... You can always save up later for a tank!
And for heaven's sake do NOT join the military to "see the world"!!! I've been a military wife and can tell you it's NOT all it's cracked up to be! Recruiters paint a really pretty picture of the military, all one big happy family looking out for each other and all kinds of things to do and BS! Recruiters will tell you all sorts of half truths and outright lies to get you to sign up because they're under enormous pressure to keep their quotas up.
The military took my husband, who could sometimes be a controlling jerk, and helped turn him into an absolute abusive monster! I warn you, if you give them even half a chance the military will chew you up then spit you back out alone and on your own. Joining up is fine if that's the career and life you really want but consider it just like that, not only a choice of jobs but a choice of a whole new style of life that you are under contract to continue whether you turn out to be happy with it or not!

Sorry! After only one year of being seperated/divorced from a marriage that killed one of my children and left me with PTSD I've still got quite a bit of healing to do!

Mama says the military is the debil!!!

Well, my parents LUCKILY are being supportive of my decision. I think they want me to take the trip (educational purposes, college credits) and I think I will, but a shark tank would be awesome. So yes, either way, its gonna be AWESOME, but IDK...its a hard choice. BTW, Tbomb, get on AIM.

Well, yeah, but just by traveling from doing this, I would have 12 CREDITS!!!! :cheer: And, I will also be taking the AP classes in HS so I can get more credits. Trying to slice time off my college time.

I am not sure how long 12 credits will get me, but each program is 6 credits each, and I am taking two, so that makes 12! I am REALLY not sure which will be more rewarding, a shark tank is SOOOO awesome, but so is China and Russia. I think I want the trip more, because I can always set up a tank, but this may be a once in a lifetime experience for me. Just think, either way u guys will see pics! LOL! BTW, ygm.

Wake up and take the trip! Honesty, your talking about turning down a chance of a life time for a fish tank!! YES it is a fish tank and thats all it will ever be. Yes it would be cool to have a 500+ with sharks and such but really think about it. Trust me when you get older you will regret this chance if you turn it down and kicking your self for the rest of your life isn't worth it. TRUST ME!!! I turned down a lot less when I was your age and regret it everyday. Nothing else really matters its all for the experience of being there.
As far as I see it there really isn't a choice!
Good luck to you!
Tim
