That is one short baffle. The water is barely gonna cover the pump if used correctly. Shoot... evap water loss and the pump WILL be exposed.
Does anyone know why they did that? I'm not familar with the sump. Is there some grand master plan they had in mind when manufacturing that?

i don't think you need 2 return pumps either.
yep, you need to have an ATO in place. i would make taller baffles. what a waste of all of that space above.

I went with 2 return pumps for the increased turn over. Not a good idea?

you could have used 1 pump. i think it would have saved space in the sump, possibly less heat, and the electric usage.

Well now here is my new dilemma......I was planning on splitting the sump to have a portion used as a refugium, but now that I got the skimmer, I put it in the sump and it doesn't leave much room for a refugium.
So now I am thinking about using the skimmer externally. I started a new thread regarding this:

So far coraljunkie said he thinks it could be done with a Gate Volve mod. Any help on this would be appreciated!!!
Thanks everyone for all their help!!!

That's the same problem I'm having. If you look at the picture of my sump you can see there is no room. I'm going to use my Tidepool II and put a fuge in there.
