Anyone?
Even if u have no idea what they are...post your opinion...if you were in my position and you had no idea what they were would you remove them..or leave them in??
They look like some sort of Larva to me,,,although I have found some kind of "snail thing" in my LR,,,firm hard "back" but with bands,,,like ya see in fossils.(kinda like an armadillo
I would remove till ya know what it is.

Can you give more detail... like do they wiggle, were they permanently attached, length, etc.
They look like some type of sponge to me but that's not it if they can move.
They are motionless, black with a transparent cacoon wrapped around them. I found a few with just the yellowish wraping around it...They've hatched? They are about the size of the equal sign = My guess is that they are larvae of some type of worm. And I find them right above of the water level not perminatly attached but just sticking somehow with out floating away in the current....VERY WEIRD
sorry about that...I was in a panic I thought they would hatch and reek havoc on my little fella's I'll delete the ones in the other boards if I didn;t get any responses.
Sheree: well they are black and smaller than that and they do not go underwater...or at least I don't think they do
sammystingray: Well if smoething did fall into my tank it must have reproduced because I found twelve of them in total.
ps
What do chiton larvae look like?
