why is everyone is such a rush these days.......if your tank is new....add the sand NOW.....then continue to wait for your iniital cycle to complete.......meaning ammonia and nitrites get to 0 and STAY there
then ADD CUC (clean up crew) a small amount...and test water.....after 1-2weeks if all is well add your FIRST (that means 1) fish......test some more...2 weeks later etc./.....etc.....etc

I'm not in rush to add fish, just want to make sure i'm doing everything right this time.
Long story short. I had this tank for about 3 years now. 3 time's everything died in it. 1st time heater broke, then salt level was sky high and now i had ammonia spike. I don't want any of this stuff happening again, this why i'm asking many questions.
Front what i read on forum and got reply's from you here's couple mistakes i did before:
1. not enough water flow
2. bad filter
3. wrong placement of rocks
4. not enough water changes

Just to expand your knowledge you can research building pvc tables to place the rocks on in a saltwater aquarium

Ok, i added about 15lb of live sand and bought 50gallon power head from top fin which is crap. Loud and weak, gonna return it tomorrow and get better one. So now i just wait for 1-2 weeks and do water change once a week and do water tests?

I found koralia power heads 425/550/750 gph and a difference between them is only few bucks. Which one would be the best to get?

Actually, I have a koralia nano in my 10g. With the flow from the filter and this little pump, the tank has a lot of flow. :)

50 gallon powerhead whats that? is that like a rio with a straight flow out of the hole? if so its no good.korilia #1 is what i would get especially if you plan on a bigger tank.then you can use it in there.i have a 30 tall qt with 2 #3's and two hob filters.perfect flow :O) you can over do the flow just make sure you place the rock work in a way so the fish can get out of the mainstream if they want to.i have a couple mp40's bigtime powerheads and my tangs try to go head on and pick algae off the front.so fish can tank a huge amount of flow .better to have too much than not enough
