this crab came a a hitchhiker with my rock and made it through the cycle... i like it and it doesnt seem to bother the corals... i have seen it pick at some shrooms once and my brown star polyps but i think it was grabbing something out of them because they didnt look harmed... it does, however, reach out at my fish when they swim near it... i dont think it will actually hurt the fish, i think its just doing that as a defense mechanism but i dont know... thanks

It looks like a red emerald crab or possible a strawberry crab. They are generally harmless and usually listed as reef safe. A word of warning though, this crab (most crabs) will become a threat to your fish if it gets large enough.

I agree, but I thought I'd throw that out there just so the op could make some sort of comparison.
I would not put any sort of crab under the title, "reef-safe." However I don't have a problem with putting crabs in my reef since I know that if and when they do misbehave, they can be thrown in the sump.
