What would be a good tank size to start with

55gal imo. Im running my first Salt water aquarium in a 55gal I actually find it way too small for my end results. I am actually going to upgrade to a 150gal in the future and give my mom the 55gal. If you can pay for it go big the extra space is great for all types of upgrades you will want in the future. I found a lot of used aquariums in my area 55g-200gals for cheap. they were selling them as entire sets with filtration and what not but if you want the tank itself it will probably be cheaper if you can make deals. lots of people are quiting the hobby

well i want a 75g tank because its deep and if i could buy them both i would but i don't have enough room so sorry.

A 75 is a really good starter size. The accessories aren't over the top expensive and yet there's a nice sized footprint for it. 55s are sized all wrong for reef tanks IMO.
