So i just filled my tank today and added the 80lbs of sand and rock now im starting to make my fish/inverts list and want some advice on a good CUC and amount.
fish i want:
2 Sunset Anthais
2 Maroon Clowns
2 Cromis
1 Diamond Goby
i got a 75g is that alot for it? And what would be a good CUC or does it matter? Can u have too big of a CUC? Thanks

make sure you buy 2 small maroon clowns and not adults unless they are a mated pair.
Also i would not bother with lousy chromis, there are much better options. If I had a 300g tank I would buy a school of chromis but 2 is a waste in my opinion.
i would get an assortment of snails for the CUC.
I also like crabs but some people don't.

I agree with skipping the chromis I have one that came with the tank and the dang thing just picks on the clown fish. Its going to the IFs, there's nothing special looking about it by it self either.
If you go to "reef packages" on the side on this site it will give you a little look at what you could do for a clean up crew. It's said "one snail per gallon"
in my 170 I have 23 hermits now(mix of tr-coloured, scarlett and drawf blue)
5 Mexican Turbo(huge snail great for glass/rock but may not be so good for coral)
9 cierth snails(want at least 3 more to make 12)
2 peppermint shrimp
1 red star fish
Plus a diamond goby that keeps the sand turnned up.
I want to add 12 nass snails and at least one blood shrimp, I absoultly love the looks of them. I'll add more as I add fish.
I recommend the cierth snails highly and the mexican turbos is you don't plan on a reef. I love the drawf blue legged hermits too. Just make sure you have extra empty shells for them.

heres what i use:
turbo snails for algae on rocks and glass
nass snails for sandbed
emerald crabs for algae on rocks
scarlet hermit crabs - i only keep 5. i had a bunch but they kill the snails
cleaner shrimp for those bigger chunks of food that make it to the bottom

I agree, but would also add cerith snails to that, and astrea snails are great for glass too.

If you really want the chromis, go for it.
I agree with the others that you have some better options out there, but these are opinions.
If chromis make you happy, then don't let others keep you from getting them.
In terms of CUC, well it depends whether this is ultimately going to be a reef, or stay a FOWLR.
Some of my favorites:
Emerald Crabs
Nass
Fighting or Tiger Sand Conch
Electric Blue Hermit
Turbo ( but they knock over corals so it is a love/hate relationship)

Go for the chromis if you want. I was just stating from my experience. Maybe with 2 they'll just stick to them selfs. 3 would be more like a school though, if your tank can handle it.
