What's happening to my Acan?

Here is a pic of my acan. It's turning white. I've tried moving him down to the sand but he doesn't look like he's getting any better.

What size tank?
What type of lights?
How old is the tank?
Please post water parameters.
How long have you had this acan?
What else is in your tank (fish/coral/inverts)?

The tank is a 46 gallon, reef, up and running for 2 years. I have t5ho lighting. The picture is when it was on the rocks but I have since moved it to the sound and it doesn't look any better.

Yup tissue recession. Got any peppermint or camel shrimp? They are know to bother acans. Also need you water parameters.
A couple of guys over on Michigan Reefers swear by and Interceptor dip for this condition. Not a parasite but the Interceptor dip, in their opinions, will cure the problem.
Threw out a lot there, but you gave us little to go on.

Inorite. Here is the quote from Jason. He runs and has run the saltwater room at one of the better LFS's in my area. I usually trust him with about anything. It struck me as weird, but he and another poster in this thread on that site said the same thing.

"Does there look to be a whitish ring on the outside edges eating away at the flesh? Try an interceptor treatment."
"Me and Jason had the same problem with acans receding. we found that sometimes a interceptor treatment will help to stop it as nothing else will. "
Another thing Propagator over on NR said was Alk above 10.5 is detrimental to acans.

how doesnt that make sense???? research it

Seems you don't know how it makes sense either. I KNOW what interceptor is.... I've been using interceptor for a while when needed.. I'm just confused to how interceptor is going to stop your acans from dying considering it is a inverticide when introduced to our reefs.
Now, if the interceptor was killing something that was attacking the acans... sure, makes sense... but since you can't even explain anything to me I'll just assume you don't know what you're talking about.

Yeah. I still think too little is known here. The OP needs to answer the questions posed.
Props answer to a guy that had 12 dkh on his alk was;
" ALk is to high IMHO for an acan. they do poorly IME above 10.5 - 11 dhk.
I think whats happening in this case may be due to lack of healing time before purchasing.
Fresh acan frags need time to heal over with new tissue growth. With out it they can go in to shock and gain infection rapidly when moved to a new system with drastically different parameters."
