whats rong???????

my clown is as pale as can be and is breathing really heavy. i did a water change yesterday and that seemed to help a little bit but what is rong?

Post more info about your tank--How long is the tank been set up-water parameters-how long have you had the clown

i have had the tank for about 4 months, and have had the clown for about 3 months.
ammonia- 0
nitrate- 20
nitrite- .25
i know some are high, so how do i get them down?

Nitrites are toxic to fish....do a good w/c...after mixing your water of course...
what size tank is this?
Also can you list your equipment and what else you have in the tank?

it is a twelve gallon tank and there is a pepermint shrimp, 3 small hermit crabs, and there is one more clown in the tank and i have noticed the sick clowns fins are torn up so i know that the other clown is picking on it
