yes, I have. that doesn't diminish Minnesota from being a great sports town. and btw, I haven't brought up any of the thugs and idiots that have played for Detroit teams (there's a lot of them) because I thought the conversation was just about the "sports towns" in general and not the actual players.

thanks. I don't really have anything AGAINST Detroit. and btw, when I see that Tigers logo, I think of Magnum PI's baseball cap.

Don't bring up Chris Webber or Rasheed Wallace, trust me, we know. Just think of Barry Sanders, it doesn't get much more classy than that.

I was thinking more of Dennis Rodman, Isaiah Thomas, the white guy with the Phantom of the Opera mask (Lambeer?), the idiot reciever that keeps running off about how the Lions are going to beat everybody, and yes Rasheed Wallace etc etc. also, Magglio Ordonez has a reputation as a crybaby ,ie his feud with Ozzie Guillen. though, I'd be tempted to take Ordonez' side on that because I feel Guillen is a punk (though he IS a good manager). also, does Sheffield play for Detroit? he is a MAJOR punk, though I can't remember at the moment who he plays for.
I give Detroit MAJOR props for Barry Sanders, who is one of the classiest players in any sport, ever.
though if you're going to mention the Vikings' players problems, you'd also have to bring up Kirby Puckett who was considered one of the greatest ambassadors of baseball ever (though he did have some allegations against him right before he died). Kirby was considered a great person and was truly one of the saddest tragedies in sports.

I was just a little kid when Magnum PI was on, but every time I see a Detroit logo or a red Ferrari, Magnum is the first thing that pops in my mind.

Well now I can see where you hail from. Twin Cities, great role model Randy Moss was. But, Dennis Rodman wasn't much of a thug until he left. Laimbeer or Mahorn didn't let anyone come into the paint, or they go hammered. We got Calvin Johnson now, the best receiver I have ever seen. Got to see him at Ga Tech, my fiance is getting a docterette there, so I got tickets for free. Ill be up aroud Myrtle Beach soon, I love it there.

Guaranteed nobody has a red ferrari and the only reason he wears a tigers hat is because of me.

You are WRONG.
If you are going to make such a blanket statement, at least get the facts straight. Philly fans are not possibly the worst fans in all of sports. Philadelphia fans ARE the ABSOLUTE worst fans in sports.
Pontius, note the sarcasm in the first three sentences of my post; I totally agree with your claim. It is tough to live in such a city. The only exception are Philadelphia Phillie fans. They are for the most part civil, and much of what I say below does not apply.
When the Eagles/Sixers/Flyers lose in the playoffs, one would really think that sports' season is over, because Philly fans stop paying attention or caring about that particular sport, even if it is the finals or championship. Don't even try to talk to most Philly fans about any team outside of Philadelphia (and maybe New York). They will not know what you are talking about. I once made a comment about Shaun Alexander of the Seahawks to a Philadelphia fan, and they had no idea who I was talking about. You call into a radio show wanting to talk about another team other than Philly, the radio DJ might just hang up on you and call you a loser. I have never seen such a group of front-running fans in my life. And don't even get me started on the possibility (or lack thereof) of wearing the opponents jersey to a Philadelphia sporting event (in the rare case that you might like that team). There is actually a very good chance the hometown crowd (of drunken idiots) may just assault you.
If there is a group of fans worst than Philly fans, I feel very sorry for that city because they must be pretty darn bad. I also feel sorry that Phillies fans are lumped with Eagles, Sixers, and Flyers fans.

I would have to agree Loin, I grew up in the Philly area. But I will say and not to make excuses but the press in Philly is just relentless on those teams. So I have to give much of the narrow mindedness of the area credit to the press coverage on a whole.
Now there is no excuse for the herd mentality of the fans.......
What about Denver? Couple of SBs and Cups.......
