When I got a hermit crab about a month ago, the shell looked fuzzy. I thought it was just algae but he has now switched to a different shell and I got a better look. I took it out of my tank for now. The shell is about the size of a pea.

I don't know, but maybe a type of hydroid?? Send a pm to Cranberry. She is good at ID's.

I was thinking that's what they might be but was hoping for something more fun and exciting!
I haven't noticed them anywhere else in the tank, should I do anything special if I see more that aren't as easy to remove?
