ok so ive had my clowns for many months now, i saw they had ich when i first got them. and then ive never seen it since, however lately i have noticed these white/ clear bumps on them.. it doesnt look like ich, its bigger than ich i think and its more clear where ich is more white..
so what could this be? im guessing its bad? is there anyway i can get rid of it?? i dont have any rock in the tank anymore, i will be taking the sand out soon, also if i need to i could take the 5 or so snails in there and put them in my 125 (hopefully its done with its cycle, been up for a month or so) I was hoping to add the clowns to my 125 soon.. now im thinking maybe not?..

so any ideas of what it could be so i can look into it and see if it is or not?
I dont know what it is, but my clowns have had it a few times over the past year. I usually just keep an eye on it and it goes away in 3-4 days. My clowns rough-house some times, and nip at each other. So it might be a detached scale or two, but not sure.
How long have your clowns had it?

I guess I also notice it more when my bigger female is in one of her moods. She also gets it sometimes. I guess the little guy can hold his own.

nope right now its just the 2 clowns, they are only around an inch- inch and a half or so... i dont see much bickering, and when they do which is rarely it doesnt even look that aggressive (when i used to have my other 2 clowns when i first set up my 72 they bickered a lot more and a lot more aggresively)

i just went and looked at them really closely, (sticking my fingers in there like i was feeding them again) and something i have noticed is that both clowns have i think 2-3 of them on them, i dont see any smaller dots on the fins or bodies.. so, i wouldnt think it was ich.. also i have noticed lately when the smaller of the two eats, she doesnt eat as aggresively.. she seems like shes having trouble, like she seems to not open her mouth up as big when eating... im worried about the smaller one.. but the big one has the clearish dots on it too..

Ok, well IMO I would just keep an eye on it, but I wouldn't transfer to the 125g until you feel comfotable that it is nothing. You could tranfer your inverts to the 125 and hyposalinity for a few weeks to be safe.

Atleast two weeks, and to 1.009 sg
it should take 2 weeks to get it to 1.009?? then wait 2 more weeks for them to be in there and 2 more weeks to raise it back? so a total of 6 weeks??

Fresh water dip? I mean if its a parasite isnt that what your supposed to do. Would be quicker then hypo but dont know if better. I read that if you dip them in freshwater at same temp ph for about 10 min and watch them close during the dip that it helps. Return them to saltwater if it bothers them too much. I guess the parasites cant live in freshwater for long but fish can stand it longer (they said no more then 15 min).

Are you getting a lot of micro bubbles in the tank? If they are clear and on the body, but not the fins, then it is likely not ich. It wouldn't hurt to perform Hyposalinity if you are not sure. You bring the water down to 1.009 over 48 hours. Count three weeks from the last time that you see a spot. If you never see a spot then just hypo for three weeks. You will need a refractometer for this. Being that you have seen ich on them before, it would be a good idea to treat them before infecting the larger tank.
FW dips only remove some of the parasites.
