what's wrong with my feather duster!!!

I checked my water levels and all is perfect... pH 8.2, temp 82, 0 nitrate, 0 nitrite, 0 ammonia, 0 phosphate, 1.23 salinity
there is a decent flow to it although not overpowering
here is a pic... he is kind of hanging out of the tube

ive read that they slowly starve in captivity usually within a year over that period they will shed their heads a few times grow them back and then perish..

he's brand new... been in there 3 days
the first 2 days he was great and now this
my Calciu, was a bit low at 360
I added purple up... hopefully that helps!

i normally have fish but right now the tank is fishless because a fish got ick so they are all in hypo in a HT tank
i fed the tank today zoo plankton
I normally just feed fish food and every now and then feed zooplankton

They don't need calcium for their tubes. They make their tubes out of their own poop and sand.
So they dont need calcium at all??? ...Hmm...someone was lying to me... >.< lol

hermit crabs, 0 fish, the only thing it's next to is leather finger coral.
does the tube need to be buried

it's actually red algae of some kind
it just grew off a rock and my clown paired with it
