All the chaeto is gone now. does anyone have any Ideas on what kind of other micro algae I can try. There is a couple types of caulepra growing. I just want to add more.
What else is in your tank? Do you have any Xenia in there? Xenia will also suck up your nitrates. I also think that the 65 watts is too much, try to cut it in half. Also you have to cull your macro back so it can grow. You will also get a false nitrate reading because the macro is sucking up the nitrates.
Yesterday before work my lights had gone out for the day and I was sitting watching my tank when it became cloudy I turned the light on and looked at my sump and all my plants were dead. I checked all my levels and all is good. Today the tank is clear, levels are still all good but everything(plants)are white and lifeless so I pulled them out. Can anyone tell me whats going on. Im going to a lfs tomorrow and want to buy more micro for the sump. Any suggestions about what is going on would be great. Should I wait about buying more micro...

I had gotten it to spread on 3 rocks....one day it shriveled...and now I think it is gone again
could never keep it in the 225G at all though
