a big clam in a small tank, you will definetly notice them using up p04 and n03. a smaller clam in a small or big tank, you most likely wont notice a change.
to the thread starter, all your levels are in order IMO. i wouldnt change a thing.

I'm not worried I have excellent strong lighting 2x250 mh hqi 4x65 actinics. Should be fine for the clams. Where is the best place to put them on rocks ? or on the sandbed? Anywhere in the tank will be sufficient lighting for those clams.

Prob down low on the SB they can move and if placed up higher they could tumble off and hurt somthing or themselves.

depends on the clam. most if not all should be up in the rockwork. squamosas will do fine on the sand bed IME. especially if they are big and sort of awkward for the rockwork.

Which I have had just of late???
I know what the charts say for Magnesium.... where do you all think the level for it should be???
Yes, Low Magnesium will make Alkalinity unstable and that could make the PH unstable as a result.
I recommend Mg be anywhere from 1250ppm to 1450ppm.

I used to have my Alk at about 4.5 mEq/L, that was too high, have brought it down to this level over the course of a month, I don't like to see more than a .25 drop in alk per day, this is just me of course, I wouldn't adjust it too quickly though.

it may drop in a week after i turn off the calcium reactor. if wont i get more calcium user in tank for now until i have my cal and alk level arond 450 and 10

Yeah, that would be what I would do. You don't have very many large consumers of Ca and Alk yet in there, do you? You could probably get away with water changes for now, maybe a little supplementation throughout the week if necessary. Take it slow, patience is one of the keys. Good luck, you'll get it where you want then find out what or how much you need to dose to keep it there, all the time.
