I just put a nice GBTA into my tank yesterday. I have a pair of false percs and they dont even seem to be the least bit interested in it. They havent gotten close to it. How long does it usually take clowns to finally host a BTA?

try this...it works....
get a picture of a clown hosting an anemone, coral, whatever and tape it up against your glass. try and post it by the host coral/anemone. keep it up there for a week or two and most likely your clown will get the picture(haha). worked for me, I got my percula into a frogspawn. ive heard its more difficult to get false percs to host, but its always worth a shot. good luck, keep us posted

Think about it...fish are very simple animals...They see their kind doing something that is just as available for them to do...and they figure its what they should do.

I've never seen a Clownfish host any coral. Typically it's the other way around.
The picture method has worked for every single person I have suggested it to over the past 25 years.

I hope i would have read this before
but anyways mine took around 2 weeks to host. I think it's just "natural instinct" :thinking: (and a proper compatible anemone)

Coral host Clown =

Clown can't host coral
Unless he eats it (which cannot be called hosting
)
Wording issue

My oscellaris wouldn't host my BTA and after about a week, I went out and bought a black sadddleback clown and he went straight into the anemone.
The oscellaris then kicked him out and took over the BTA.
They now share the nemone, which I think is pretty cool since they are two different types of clowns.
You can always go "borrow" a clown that hosts an anemone at the fish store, then return him for credit once your clown catches on.
