It really comes down to what works best with your water. Meaning hard or soft, not tap vs RO. We have really hard water here, and the Tropic Marin salt that is pushed in stores around here.....not sure why.....did terrible in my tank. Always a sale on TM salt, never -- salt...go figure. I use RO/DI water only. I test with a TDS meter monthly, to see if the filters need changing. Reef Crystals is accurate with every batch. I saw a remarkable change in my tank once I changed over to --. Luckily, I only used the TM for a short period of time.
You too, may have to experiment with salts. But if the Atlanta Aquarium, Baltimore Aquarium use Instant Ocean products it must be a stable salt to use.

I know, makes me so happy I switched to Reef Crystals.
I've only bought a 50 gallon bag worth so I can try it first. But after using it myself and hearing how so many people love it, I'm ready to buy the bucket!

If what you are using is working for you, then no need to change. For me the Tropic Marin would leave a film and then every fourth batch or so would be bad (meaning it would be cloudy and wouldn't clear up), so I would have to toss it. So it was time to try a different salt. Reef Crystals has worked great to this point.
