Yea welcome to the addiction!!! JMO ...I would have smoked the crab
then again i have had some bad luck with Gorilla crabs , so maybe I am just paranoid. Rock work looks good

I sort of agree with you in that I hear bad stories about hitchhiking crabs. For now I'll keep an eye on him and if he doesnt play nice, I'll have to get rid of him. If anything, it gives me somethign to look at (when I see actually see him) until I can get some of the things I really want.

Looking good, I think that is an asterina star, but not positive
Tank is looking nice

cool, i'll have to look it up. I dont have high hopes for any of these little critters surviving since the tank is so new, but I guess time will have to tell.

thanks guys, yeah I got pretty lucky with the LR. I saw another small star fish but he was missing two legs. And I see a couple new FD's pop up now and then, I have counted 9 so far. Also, i saw a couple little bug creatures crawling around on the rocks last night.
Also, there are these crazy tube worms or something, they come out of their tube and reach around and pick up grains of sand and use it to build their tube. Its sweet. Theres a bunch of them. Anyone know what they are called? thanks!

Another starfish came out to say hi, i heard there are good and bad stars, the bad ones eating some corals. I'll keep an eye on him for now, i wont have any corals until the new year, so for now I guess he can stay.

Love your rocks man, full of goodies.. Im jealous
Thanks Nano, dont be jealous though. Your tank rules.
I find all this stuff at night, i sit there for an hour and stuff crawls out. I got a flashlight and that helps. I still havent seen the crab though since day one, i keep looking for him.

Those hitchers are pretty cool. Those stars will pop up forever, very cool ones.
Thats a nice mushroom rock you got, even the bleached ones will come back. I would consolidate them personally, so they dont sting other corals you put in around them as the mushrooms reproduce. The tanks coming along great though

Haha, no im not going to name it anything. I got my API test kits last night finally. Here are the new results:
ph 8.2
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 20
I was expecting to see more ammonia and nitrites in there. Two days ago the test strips said there was ammonia but no nitrates. I read in my saltwater book that i may never see a cycle with well cured rock and live sand. Any advice? I threw in a small bit of frozen food to help feed the bacteria but ammonia didnt go up. Should i add a little more? Thanks for helping your neighborhood newb.
