I don't like yogurt or jello...
It was long ago for me. I remember the drugs were good!
You can't drink with a straw or can't, for the lack of a better word, "suck" on anything because it may produce a "dry socket" where the tooth came out. Not good. Stick with soft foods, nothing crunchy or hard to chew. Avoid carbonated sodas and cold drinks.
If you're young, the wisdoms should come out easily. Two of mine were compacted so they had to break them and take them out piece by piece. Took them 45 minutes to get those two out. Needless to say, I had to come back to get the other two out. Those came out easily.

Since you are only 20, it should be fairly simple, as we get older the 3rd molars fuse to the jaw bone which is why the longer you wait the harder it is to get out. Even if the are impacted they shouldn't cause you too much trouble. The dry socket info above is correct. I never heard avoiding carbonation, that shouldn't affect anything. Definately no smoking though. You shouldn't be in pain for more than a few days. As far as eating, whatever your comfortable with. I wouldn't have anything acidic because it will sting, but your wisdoms may come out with no problem what so ever and you'll be eating chinese food the next day.

I think the carbonation had to do with the possibility of dislodging the clot leading to dry socket. Then again, I had a rookie dentist. He wouldn't put me out!!! Also, you can't spit for the same reason you shouldn't drink with a straw and you'll be rinsing with salt water to avoid infection. The first 24 hours are the most important. I'd stick with water. No hot or cold drinks.

Ahhh yes, I remember the good ole days of them using us on medics who had never given a shot before, for practice. Navy medical staff.........what idiots. Those guys had to stick me 5 times in basic training to get blood out. I was in literal shock and the drill instructors were asking them, What the hell did you do to her???? Priceless. I thought the guy was gonna pee on himself. lol
Anyway, luckily my two cavities in boot camp were really small and I never had anything to worry about.
