Why did my water turn yellow???

As reported in previous posts, I have had a recent outbreak of aggression from (I think) my passer angel. My lion fish died the other day from the abuse, and my lunare wrasse looks in bad shape. It had been hiding for 2 weeks, but came out the last few days. It had a chunk of its tail missing, and a big ugly bite on its back. I treated the tank yesterday with penicilin to fight off infections. This morning the tank is yellow. Any ideas why. All measurable parameters are normal.

It's too late on this occasion but I would start thinking about a hospital/quarantine tank.

Still yellow. Any ideas what I can do?

let it run for awhile. If it gets worse then look at filtering.

Try some carbon filtering.

Carbon might clear it, but will pull the medication out also.

I tried adding carbon. No change yet.
Could it be my lights? I have regular flourescent bulbs that are quite old. Could it be a spectrum issue?

my NO flouresents made my tank look yellow. It ould very well just be a lighting issue. Get some new ones or different spectrum ones, not actinic though. Then maybe it will change it. And it wont be yellow.

The Penicilin probably devastated your bacteria population. This is causing the yellow water. The life expectancy of your remaining fish is pretty short right now. You might want to consider moving them to a cycled tank.

This is EXACTLY why a quarentine/hospital tank is such an important piece of equipment to have on hand...and use.
Never treat/medicate in main/display tank...
As Poppa Bearenstain Bear always says..."Let this be a lesson to you...This is what you should not do"

if u want to find out if it is ur lights or water...shine a flashlight through the tank long ways and if the light comes out yellow on the wall or through the tank...then it is the water

My flashlight isn't yellow at all! :D HID Flashlight. Very similar to the headlight bulbs on Benz's. Oh yeah, baby......
I love free stuff.

For what it is worth, the water isn't yellow anymore. I put in carbon the next day. What do you think is up with my bacteria??? Also, I do have a 5 gallon cycled and running. Is it ok for a hospital tank for the wrasse. He isn't looking so good.
