You need to move to the more friendly areas. Here in the south people are polite and nice. I'd be shocked if someone didn't thank for opening the door or keeping it open.

It's good that we have options. Some people on other boards just think they own the place because of post count or whatever. I avoid that crap.

Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions.
The only rude peeps that irritate me like ich irritates fish, are the people that have o contributions to a dabate..
Theres nothing wrong with constructive critisism or debating.. If anything, constructive debating is an Art!!

If I don't want to live in a dictatorship, I must be vigilant to preserve my freedom. If I wish to preserve my freedom, I must be informed on the issues. Being informed on the issues requires that I become acquainted with alternative points of view. The history of the development of civilization can be seen as the history of debates on issues. In democratic societies, there must be public debating. Newspapers have served this purpose and still do to some extent in this country. However, people seem to have lost awareness of the importance of debating since the days of Thomas Paine. The sixty-second sound bite has created the illusion that the important issues are all brief and cut-and-dried. The importance of debating issues is fading from the public consciousness. One principle aim of The Truth Tree is to increase awareness of the importance of rational debating.....To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advance in science.
