I can understand the frustration of message boards. Countless times I see/read posts asking a question....something like "is my clam looking ok" and the first dozen replies are "I see a yellow tang in your tank and it's only 55 gal you need a bigger tank. "
"Tang Police" drive me insane. I think they have a secret network and scan all the known message boards searching for tank pictures with tangs so they can comment LOL.
I would like to see one...just ONE...hobbyist post a picture of their nickel sized Hippo tang when they first bought it and then the same hippo tang at 18" in their care. I have not seen it in 20+ years of keeping marine tanks. BUT... you will always read, hippo tangs get 18" you need a such-and-such gallon tank. If that's the case...someone please SHOW me a hippo tang in a hobbyist tank that was bought at the size of a nickel that reached it's full wild size of 18 plus inches. Someone...please??

Every forum has starters..theres a difference between starting newbie and starting clueless..
Maybe thats what makes the other forums seemed more knowledgeable or advanced than others? standards!!
Maybe over at the other place they have a sense of identifying trolls from innovative critics. And they know better Not to feed the trolls..

But u ever wonder why the other "rude" message boards are still thriving??

we all love real life entertainment..don't we? I recomend the Aquarium forum for those individuals ..
If you're going to take anything literally or personally that's being said over the web then yes you do have a problem, One that takes a little more sophisticated proffesional help..Not found on this or other mesage boards..

Or we could all agree on everything and build a reputation for this site as "The starting point for saltwater/reef keepers"...And as the hobbiests get more advanced we should luer them to the others..right?
If only fish talked NONE of us would be here...
