SO a week or two ago I posted that I cannot keep snails alive in my tank. I've followed the advice of others on here and properly increased the salt levels, as well as properly acclimating them to the tank. Still no love for me.
The SW expert at the LFS (granted I don't know this guy other than every person in the store telling me he is the best to talk to in the store) could only think of the possibility of copper being in the tank from my copper pipes and me using tap water to fill the tank. I put some Culpisorb in the filter a week ago and am now considering purchasing a RO filter.
My question is will an RO filter remove the copper from the water that I have in my house. I want a filter that will work but don't see the additional need for the DI part if I don't need it yet. I would also like to use this filter for drinking water if I'm gonna buy it and have heard RODI water isn't good for drinking becuase its too clean. NOt sure how that could be but if someone could shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it.
