windex, safe to clean out used tank?

just wanting to know if windex is safe to use on a used tank to clean it out

Use a diluted white vinegar solution! Just as good as windex, less chemicals!

Actually...what was it used for before????
I had a used tank...I soaked it in bleach...then I soaked it in a dechlorinator...clean and sterile after

it was used for frogs before, how do i steralize it? the lady already cleaned it with windex

YES...I filled the whole tank...added quite a bit of bleach...let it sit a couple of hours
then I added some start right tablets ...(a dechlorinator)...any dechlorinator will do the same....added this to a full tank.....let it sit a couple of hours...rinsed well...tada...done

It would be if you didn't do the dechlorination step

oh ill make sure i def get some from the petstore if i buy the tank, shes want $100 for a 55g and stand what do you think?

IDK about the price I don't buy a lot of used.....You might try to talk her down some. Can't hurt to ask... For $200 you can get a whole set up..of course the lights are only good for FW though

windex is fine, its just ammonia. just rinse the tank out when youre done.

Be very careful here. If the tank was sold originally as a reptile tank it may not be an aquarium. There types of tanks may not hold water.
