You know what does suck, salary caps. Having to watch Emmitt Smith leave for AZ for salary cap implications, is rediculous. It happens time after time in the NFL.
LOL...That hurt...I hated when he left :(

Another 100% purchased World Title...
Yawn...
Clemson spends more money than most of the SEC Teams on Football, and yet they're still mediocre every year. I guess money can't buy everything.

THAT, is EXACTLY what I was thinking all day, but didn't have time to look up numbers to verify my statement.....

What do you mean by "spends more money" exactly? I played two years on the Clemson football team from 01-03, and we had the worst training and recruiting facilities in the ACC, let alone the SEC. We've upgraded somewhat since then, but I remember going to Kentucky and Vandy and how shocked I was that their facilities were WAY better than ours.
Sure we have a fan base better than pretty much anyone, but that doesn't mean the program gets that cash.
I wish we did...
And for the record, all we have to do is beat FSU tomorrow and we're in the ACC championship game for the first time ever!

And for you people making the argument that "money doesn't buy championships"...
What do C.C. Sabathia, Mark Texeria, A.J. Burnett, Alex Rodriguez, and Hideki Matsui all have in common?
Well 1) they are the main reason the Yankees just won the World Series, and 2) they were all signed as free agents with the Yankees who offered far and away millions more than anyone else could...
But I'm sure that's just luck...

Yeah, I meant to say ACC, essentially I just like giving you a hard time because you are such a Socialist and don't think anyone in society should be rewarded for working hard....As long as Clemson keeps beat the losers of the University of South Carolina, they're ok by me.

In all things political and social I am more than willing to disagree with conservatives!
But come on, do you really think professional sports should fall under the same standards?
The whole reason people like pro and college sports is so locally they have something they can cling onto and pull for. If you take a "big business" approach to that, then what's the point in pulling for 90% of the teams?
If you want to spend all your time rooting for a loser, just vote democrat!
Ba-domp- domp-cha!

Just as a side note, the yanks traded for Arod... The brilliant rangers are the ones who paid Arod too much. Then the yanks sweetened the pot a few years later...
And no, money doesn't buy championships.

I do think the Yankee's are not necessarily a "well-run" organization. They have overspent severely on certain players, and I can't imagine anyone would say they are as well run as the Angels, Twins, or Red Sox. I like the salary cap in the NFL, it allows the best run organizations to be successful, not the richest. If the richest were the best in the NFL, the Seahawks would be the best team every year....Yes Cowboy fans, Paul Allen has about 10 times the net worth of Jerry Jones.
