Here is what I have so far for it. It has 6 t5's, Mag 36 pump, 3 squids, Icecap 430, and an icecap 660 ballast. Single overflow with a 1.5" bulkhead. It also came with about 125Lbs. of live rock. It also has a sump, auto top off unit, and a super nice stand and canopy. I am seriously thinking about going bare bottom.

I'm thinking about going with no sand at all. I will have probably 300 to 350 plus lbs. of live rock plus what ever I can fit in the sump.

Why?
Your tank will be lacking so much. This isn't a ten gallon that you have to worry about detritus in the sand. This tank could easily achieve full oceanic balance, if set up correctly.

Yeah but I have a 150 and a 135 also and I have alot of trouble with my sand causing spikes when it is stirred up just a little. I think I can achieve the same thing without the sand over a period of time.

What issues have you had? I have a different opinion of a natural tank, but you can do what works for you. Let us know how that works out. How do you dispose of the uneaten food, detritus, any invert that dies, etc. without sand? I am just curious as to what the plan is.
