Have to go to a mandatory meeting tonight for work, but it's mainly only for managers and supervisors so why do i have to go? It sucks, and 4 hours later i have to go back into work for my normal shift anyway. Arghghh!

I know how you feel. Indeed be glad you have a job, that will take the sting away some.

I work night shift and live in the suburbs of Chicago. When we have some useless meeting, it is always scheduled for the middle of the afternoon, in the city

So after working all night, I have to catch a train early in the morning to get to the mandatory meeting on time...then get home, sleep for maybe 2 hours and off to work all night again.
They pay me only for the time I'm in the meeting, not the 4 1/2 hour commute.
I work close to my home…meetings are just far away.
Just before I retire, I am going to get a copy of the company letterhead, fax a statement that there is a mandatory meeting at 2:00 AM at an address on the outskirts of the city, in the middle of nowheresville.
I am sure after a landslide of calls nobody will show, but the boss gets to deal with the city dwelling dayshift workers whining for a change. Maybe it will drive the point home to him how inconvenient his meetings are scheduled at for the 1000 workers not around the corner that works at night!
This is what I think of as I travel blurry eyed to my meetings once a month. I am 50 now, revenge is just around the corner

Could have been worse you could have been working for the Wally Store I was when the TLE made the mistake of telling the Managers that they were bringing in the UNION to the Store. We could not FART without someone from Arkansas running up our butts saying that is a signal you want the UNION in the store.

It's funny, most retail employees do not know ANY of the common sense stuff.
Like the others said, just be glad you have a job. There are many who do not and are having trouble making ends meet.
