So I bought a mated pair of Blue Star Leopard Wrasses, took them home, 2 hour acclimation, insert into the tank, they dive into the sand bed. Alright... lights off, check on you in the morning. Next day, no sign of he wrasse, that's normal, expecting a few days before seeing them regularly. So next day, maintenance day, time to clean everything up, wipe the glass, clean skimmer..... what a minute, WTH!
The female wrasse inside the skimmer!!!!!!
How the Hell!!!
She managed to go between my overflow teeth, down the stand pipe, through the overflow lines. Into the sump, up over a baffle. Then into the intake of my skimmer pump. Got trapped under the bubble plate. The flow so strong it pinned her against it and started to push her body through the holes.
Had to disassemble the entire skimmer to get her out. By then it was too late.
Freak of nature or Death wish?
