eat my feather duster tube?
i woke up this morning and half of one of my feather dusters tube was eaten. although it's head came out about after an hour or so after. i think i read it will construct it again?
and on my second feather duster there is a section of it's tube is so picked clean i can see the worm moving back and forth inside.
my stock is just inverts:
different snails
emerald
porcelain
pom pom
peppermint - culprit ?
tuxedo urchin

In my experience yes mine loved feather duster worms.

to bad, my feather dusters are quite colorful..i guess i can try supplement feedings

Yeah, I had peppermint shrimps that ate my featherduster tubes as well. I don't think supplemental feedings is going to thwart them from eating something they love. JMO.

Yup, peppermints can be real problems.
I had one attack a galaxea frag, ripped it to pieces right in front of me.

Wow, I didn't know peppermints could be such a problem. I was just thinking about getting one.
What is a good shrimp to pick up? My tank is corals and inverts only.

One the other side of things, I have 3 or 4 big peppermint shrimp and have never had any problem with the touching any of my corals, or any of my 4 feather dusters.

They are hit or miss, not unlike some fish.

The two shrimp I would never add to any reef tank is the peppermint and camelback, they will eventually clean out your corals etc.

I have never heard that they eat your corals

They are listed as reef safe..I hope that's not true

i think peppermints fall in the same area as a damsel. some people love them, and just as many hate them. i had three in one tank and it was like putting a wolf pack in the same pen as a bunch of lambs. other then eating aptasias, i really don see too much use for them. in your case, i would try to get it out cause a feather duster costs a bit more then a peppermint shrimp. to get a couple of mine out, i use a clear plastic 20oz. soda bottle and cut the top off. put some food in it and when the shrimp went in, used the net to cover the entrance, and out it came. happy fishing.
