Wow! That was fast!

Picked up a skunk cleaner shrimp at our LFS yesterday afternoon and this morning he is cleaning the Coral Beauty! I never thought it would happen that fast! Less than 18 hours. So cool! I also picked up some more base rock and a couple pieces of cool live rock and rearranged the rockwork in the tank. The fish are much happier. We still need more rock but what we had was pitiful! :flame: I also got 3 snails but forgot the name of them. They are about an inch and a quarter long and have long snout that sticks out of the sand when they bury themselves. Any ideas? I will be posting pictures of everything shortly.

Nass snails? Sounds like it.

Are you buying fully cured live rock?

Skunk cleaners are fun to watch. :D
Yes the rock we buy is cured. Why do you ask? And I have had nassarius snails. The little ones with a trunk, these guys have trunks over an inch long. Do nassarius snails get to be over one inch?

I ask because I was hoping you wouldn't put uncured live rock in a tank that is already established.
Sounds like nassarius snails to me, but post a couple pics anyway to be sure.

sorry to hijack your thread lol, but will my Cromileptes altivelis eat this type of shrimp? or will the cleaner shrimp clean him, too?

Typically the Grouper would rather be cleaned than eat a Cleaner Shrimp. No guarantees though in a captive environment. If you're going to get one then I recommend getting at least two.

Welcome to the forum Mike!! So cool watching that shrimp clean way up in the gills of the coral beauty! Those two are best friends now! This is such a cool hobby.
